Home Sweet Home

The six weeks of Mission Training is over physically however on the spiritual side it is a life changing journey that will not end until the day I die!!!!
I have learned so much in the 6 weeks. Some of my highlights??? Well I enjoyed it ALL!!! I enjoyed the afternoon Outreach times..get out on the streets and meet people. I also really enjoyed the "solo" time we usually had on Wednesday afternoons. The last post I had posted of a park that was on a Wednesday afternoon. And then there where other times on Wednesdays that I spent in a "room" with just the Lord!!!! The icing was put on the cake the last week when we had teaching on Intro to Counseling and then also classes on Dealing with Hurting and Abused Children.... I was "anticipating" a lot of answers .this is the way you do it..and then this will be the results!!!....well I should've known better:)..it does not work that way..it starts with my heart....it was a very great week for me...made me see I still have "stuff" I need to take care of in my life.
We all had to share our Personal Pilgrimage which I enjoyed...even those where times that a lot of tears where shed ...God has given everyone a story....and we ALL know about pain in one way or another. GOD IS So GOOD!!!!
Another highlight was when two church ladies came to see me!!!! Was short but sweet. We did some sightseeing on Saturday before they started back that evening.

Introduced them to Bubble Tea. That stuff can be addictive!!!!!

On Friday evening May 17 they had a banquet for us. Our classroom changed from a classroom to a "banquet hall"

The cooks did a great job. They are the ones who worked HARD behind the scenes every day!!!!

We all had to come up with a skid, or a song etc. Here they did the skid of "selling pencils"
This young man played the guitar and sang a song. Anthony has a gift in playing his guitar and singing. There where evenings we would get together and sing until "after" curfew!!!

The highlight of the evening was getting our diplomas!!!!!

A few random shots of people ...amazing how friendships can grow in 6 weeks!!!!!!

Early on Saturday morning I took the train up to Syracuse New York to be with some of my family. Mom and Rose where up there too so I could come back to Pa. with them. We had a very god weekend. Eating, talking, trying to sleep:). Linda Becca wanted to go out with us for breakfast Monday morning so Marlene took us to this cute little restaurant that I did not know it existed in NY :)

And of course we had to stop at this beautiful Lilac Park and take some pictures!!!!
So what am I doing since I am at home for 2 weeks. Well the first week is about history :(
I am enjoying being outside mowing the grass and getting my hands into the dirt!!!! My sister is planning having a yard sale in June so I have been going thru my stuff that I don't need or use anymore and getting ready for her yard sale. I also am enjoying going to Casey's baseball games!!!!
I enjoyed a very short evening with these precious kiddos. I missed them so much these last 6 weeks!!! Not sure how the next 3 months will go!!!! :( Oh yes I have to get after their Mom and Dad to come see me :)

I am planning going back to NYC Monday June 3 for the summer. I will be doing some cooking for the Mission Center. They have a very busy summer with groups coming in then I will clean after they leave. I will have some free time where I want to focus on the kids that are on my street. Thank you for your prayers and continue praying for me that what ever the next step is that God wants to take me that I am willing to follow.
